Finally getting around to posting this one. This version of Harry Dresden and Bob the Skull features some changes. This was a commission, and he was specifically requested to have a beard. I went a step further and added flocking, which makes the beard soft and fuzzy to the touch. I also used glow in the dark powder in order to make the summoning circle and the runes on bob glow in the dark. Bob still has a flashing orange light installed in his skull.

Teaser photo. More pictures coming of this latest Harry Dresden pony. Some new details. Glow in the dark highlights on the runes and summoning circle. Also a beard at the request of my customer. I added a neat touch and flocked the beard. This means it is soft and fuzzy to the touch.

You see that button? I am damn proud of that button! Managed the cuffs from the original design.

Wider coat tails. No runes. Stitching effect on the sides. Thinner clay.

If you were to order your own Harry Dresden pony, or a pony with a trench coat in general, this is the design you will get. And the more I do it, the more my skill goes up :)
This one is almost done drying as of this post. I’ll probably sand and paint it when I get home from work tonight.

This pony is in the mail and on it’s way to Jim Butcher. I hope he likes it! I forgot to take proper pictures, so here are the hurried ones I took.
I am accepting commissions for this design. Please feel free to email me, or to drop by my store and buy a retainer. Notice, retainers once purchased are nonrefundable. So if you have questions, email me first! SeraphLena@yahoo.com Each Harry Dresden style pony may take at least one month to complete, possibly longer depending on a variety of factors. Like if something breaks, or I have to order parts, or I get sick.
If you were to order this style, “Bob the Skull” would not be included, and the price would be $60 +Shipping. Due to the fragile sculpting, priority mail is the only option available. If you are overseas, please be aware that this can be upwards of $30 in shipping fees. If you wanted a “Bob the Skull” to go with your Harry Dresden, it would be an additional $20.

Photo 1 - working on my second Harry Dresden my little pony. As you can see, the details are much better than the first one. Adding a second photo of the belly after this. It will need a lot of sanding when it’s done.

Harry Dresden. I have some pentacle Charms ordered to replace the wire one I put on the necklace. I’m letting the glue dry inside his head before I cut and style the hair. I just need to paint his cutie mark. I have it sketched.

I wanted the eyes to look manly.. But I also wanted them to look kind and friendly. I lined the upper eyelid in dark brown, and gave hm dark brown lashes so that the black wasn’t so harsh against the white of his skin. Already got that going on with the coat.
The eyes have a blend of colors in them, starting from dark brown at the outside, fading in to a gold. I started out with just the dark and light brown, but it just wasn’t working.. So I mixed the gold with a bit of brown and brushed on some gold highlights. But it wasn’t gold enough.. so right around the pupil, i dry brushed some pure gold and to me, it just made the eyes pop. I really love how they came out.
I’ll be adding hair as soon as I’m done posting this.

I am so pleased with how the runes on Harry Dresden’s coat came out. I carved them into the clay by hand and then painted the coat black. I touched a tiny bit of gold paint to each rune and it just flowed through the carvings like magic. It’s perfect. I love this. They wrap from each trench coat tails around the belly. Now I just need to paint the cutie mark and do the eyes and give him hair. Im not sure if I’ll go to the craft store and see if they have tiny pentacles to make the amulet, or if I should just paint it on a little disk of clay.

I’m not sure how well you can see it, but I finished the runes on Dresdens duster. My arm feels like it has a full blown case of carpal tunnel and my fingers are dented from holding the sculpting awl so tight, but it’s done. I think it loos great, personally.
Now it’s time to paint.

Here is an update on the Harry Dresden pony, of Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. Harry will be the second pony based on this book series, and when both he and his companion, Bob the skull, are finished I will be sending them to Jim Butcher as a fan gift. I can only hope that he likes them :) I’ll be working on Molly Carpenter when I am done with this.

Jukebox Julie custom pony by *Woosie
This is similar to the design I have been mulling over for my Molly Carpenter pony. Molly actually suggested it to me over on Google+ (Yes, Molly is on G+ along with Bob, Harry, Georgia and Billy, Thomas, and Carlos).
The skirt can be used to hide the flashing light I want to put in her, but if I do the skirt and the corset both, I may as well forget the light, because it won’t show up very well. I still really really want to find some way to include the light show for Molly’s pony, but Im just not sure yet.
