This girl was a commission from a member on the My Little Pony Arena forums. I have to say that the more I worked on her, the more I fell in love with her. She has got to be one of my most favorite ponies to date. Red/Gold/Black is always a beautiful color scheme.

I used a different painting technique this time. I used a sponge instead of a brush.. Im not sold on the sponge idea yet, but it did give a very interesting effect with the metallic paint, allowing me to get an old fashioned, burnished sort of look that I really like.

The swirls and circles are done with india ink pens.. Very fragile stuff to work with. I can’t get lines as thin as I would like, but for thicker things, it works great.

Current paint job Im working on. I got to experiment with India Ink pens. Very fragile work! In person, the gold is gently ringed by black and it just really pops. I still need to add a cutie mark, but I have to get the approval on this design, then seal it before I work on the cutie mark. I have three days off this week, so Im looking to finishing up the bulk of my sculpting and begin painting on my other projects. If you are one of the people ordering from me, my goal is to finish projects in this order, based on when they absolutely NEED to be done. 1. Wonder Woman - Done by May 2nd, because May 3rd, I have to take her with me to Fear The Con to deliver her to her buyer. 2. Harry Dresden and Bob the Skull - Done ASAP, hopefully also done by May 2nd or sooner. 3. Grace and Cookie - They have no deadline that I am aware of, so they come last. And the pony that I have posted here, she gets worked on when I don’t have enough time to dedicate to sculpting. Between working 40 hours a week, caring for a sick cat, playing in two RPGs, and sculpting these other ponies, I haven’t been able to work on her as much as I would like, or as much as I thought I would. But she is coming along.

Random project I’m working on my first pair of wings. Whenever I have clay leftover from other projects that is too hard to use on clothes and stuff, I am adding a few feathers. This is actually my second start on this. The first attempt looked so bad that I took a hammer to it and started over.
